LOVE TO MY TEACHER

By: Yohana Simamora

The bell rang, signaling the end of class. The students rushed out of the classroom, but my heart was still rooted to the spot. I, a high school student, sat stunned in the back seat. My mind is filled with one figure that fascinates me, that figure is my teacher, Miss Sarah. Miss Sarah is our English teacher.

He had a charming smile, deep brown eyes, and a gentle voice that was always a joy to hear. Every time he entered the classroom, the atmosphere became lively. He teaches with passion and great skill. When he spoke, I felt completely connected to what he had to say. Time passed and every day I spent thinking about Miss Sarah.

I imagined the moments I could talk to her in private, see her smile up close, and speak in her gentle voice. But, I always felt too shy to express my feelings

One day, during an English lesson, Miss Sarah divided the work groups. I wished I could be in the same group as him, but fate had other plans. I was stuck in another group with my classmates. My heart is broken.

During group activities, I try to pay attention to Miss Sarah. Every time I see him laughing or teaching something with such enthusiasm, my heart races. I want to be the reason he smiles every day. However, my mind was filled with uncertainty. What if he never saw me as anything more than a normal student?

Day after day passed, and my feelings grew stronger. I tried to find the courage to express how I felt, but the words stuck in my throat. I was trapped in a torturous silence.

One afternoon, I ventured to face Miss Sarah after class. I stood in front of the classroom door, with a pounding heart. He looked surprised to see me.

"How can I help you, Kevin?" asked Miss Sarah kindly.

"He-he-I... wanted to say something," I stammered.
